Every culture is a colour

Why Colors of Heritage exists, what we believe in and how the program works.

Vision

Our vision

Our vision at Colors of Heritage is to be an inspiring, sustainable and inclusive platform that brings cultural richness and shared human values to the fore through the universal, unifying power of art — building understanding, respect, friendship and strong bonds between cultures, communities and generations.

We believe the language of art reaches beyond borders, languages and differences, bringing people together around shared feelings. With that belief, we imagine a world where the distinct values of every culture are recognised, where everyone can express themselves freely, and where differences are embraced as a richness. Through music, poetry, theatre, folk dance and other art forms, we aim to build lasting bridges between cultures, help communities know one another more closely, and bring them together around shared human values.

We care that future generations grow up knowing their own cultural identity, holding on to their roots, and keeping their heritage alive to pass on to those who come after them. At the same time, we want young people not only to know their own culture but to be open to other cultures, respectful of universal values, able to empathise and conscious of living together. We believe everyone who preserves their cultural identity can make a meaningful contribution to the social, cultural and spiritual growth of the society they live in.

Colors of Heritage aims to be an international meeting point where children and young people can discover their artistic talents, build their self-confidence and reveal their potential. Creating a setting where young talents from different regions meet on the same stage, learn from one another by sharing their cultures, and shape the future together through shared projects is a central part of our vision.

Our long-term goal is to become an internationally recognised platform that strengthens social solidarity through culture and art, protects cultural diversity and keeps humanity's shared values alive. To that end, we aim to bring families, educators, artists, volunteers and every part of society together around a common purpose — supporting cultural transmission between generations and contributing to a more understanding, caring and peaceful future.

Our dream is to build a world where every culture exists in its own colour, every child shines with their talent, and differences become a shared beauty through the unifying power of art. By bringing the cultural heritage of the past together with the hopes of the future, Colors of Heritage aims to lead the way towards a stronger society built on love, respect, understanding and fraternity.

Mission

Our mission

Colors of Heritage is a culture- and arts-focused project that brings the richness of different cultures together through the universal language of art, and helps children and young people know, protect and pass on their cultural heritage to future generations. Inspired by the unifying, healing and transformative power of art, our project builds bridges between cultures to strengthen mutual understanding, respect, love and a culture of living together.

Our mission is to bring different cultures together through art-based events, workshops, stage performances and education programmes; to enable children and young people to discover their cultural roots, get to know their traditions and express their cultural identity with confidence; and to support them in discovering their talents, developing their creativity and expressing themselves freely through music, poetry, theatre, folk dance and other art forms.

Colors of Heritage believes that every child and young person has their own story, talent and cultural richness. With this understanding, it encourages participants from different backgrounds, languages and cultures to come together, get to know one another, learn from each other and meet around shared values. By creating a participatory, inclusive and dialogue-focused environment, it sets out to show that differences are not a cause of division but a source of social richness and togetherness.

Our project cares not only about developing children's and young people's artistic skills but also about helping them embrace universal values such as empathy, tolerance, responsibility, solidarity, sharing and mutual respect. We believe the bonds formed through art contribute to people's social and spiritual growth, strengthen their self-confidence and deepen their sense of belonging.

Our goal as Colors of Heritage is to create a platform where cultural heritage is carried from the past into the future, young talents are supported, and different cultures meet on the same stage. We work for a future in which every child can freely reflect their own colour, every culture is valued, and art brings people together on common ground of love, understanding and fraternity.

Because we believe every culture is a colour, every child is a treasure, and art is a universal language that brings every colour together in equal beauty.
Our goals

What we set out to do

  1. 01

    Develop talent holistically

Discover each student's ability across every art form, connect them with experts, and give them room and courage to express themselves.

  2. 02

    Use art for service

Bring children with an interest and talent for art under one roof and guide them to use those talents in the right direction.

  3. 03

    Reach the right address

Guide art-interested students to come to us directly rather than piecing things together from scattered sources.

  4. 04

    Recognise potential

Some students go on from this program to Ümit Nağmeleri and to the IFLC stage.

Preparation

How students prepare

Once the pre-selections are done and students are confirmed, lessons start online — followed by a three-day intensive with the art team in California.

  • Talented students are discovered through the weekend schools.
  • Families are contacted and must accept the program's conditions.
  • Students work regularly on the pieces they are assigned, with their teacher following up.
  • Accommodation is arranged with host families, who are informed and supported.
